Psych Up/Calm Down Youtube Video – Jack P
I created this video to provide people who need psyching up or calming down in preparation for an interview. It’s commonly understood that interviewing can create stress and anxiety. This video won’t cure all those natural emotions, but it will provide its viewers a few different techniques to try for themselves to alleviate some of those worked up emotions. In the first part of the video, I use an enthusiastic tone to create energy for those who need psyching up, followed by several things they can do to work themselves up creating their own energy going into the interview. The prompt for the video instructed me to create a video that was 2-4 minutes of length and target a wide ranged audience because everyone has different preparation styles heading into an interview. I engage the audience using gestures and different levels of tonality to psych up those who need energy and calm down to those that need relaxation. I also wear a button up shirt to bring some professionalism into the video emulating the environment of an interview, I attached a soothing song in the background of the video to create a warmer feel to the video, and tried to be creative with how I played out examples for the viewers. I made sure I kept my language concise and to the point for a cleaner articulation of the thoughts and ideas I had for the listeners to create clear communication. I shared multiple examples that reached different types of people and tried to make the content as digestible as possible through the body language I present. I hope the video can give you an idea to try before your next interview or even a strategy you can use whenever you need a pick me up or bring me down.
